The San Simon Resort in Izola impresses with its modern facilities, good value for money, wellness area and close proximity to the sports facilities.
My personal tip for you
Definitely one of the best destinations in all of Istria! The facility impresses with its combination of training, wellness, indoor pool, food and drinks - all at an all-inclusive price, plus absolute training safety with the artificial turf pitches available in Izola, Koper and Piran.
Training
The preferred training ground is the artificial turf pitch at Izola Stadium (around 1.7 kilometers away), which was renovated in 2025. There is also the option of training at FC Koper's large training ground with a very good artificial turf pitch (around nine kilometers away) or on the beautifully situated, latest-generation artificial turf pitch in Piran (around eight kilometers away).

Hotel
You will be accommodated within the San Simon Resort (consisting of several buildings) in what we consider to be the best buildings, Hotel Haliaetum **** or Hotel Mirta ****. The hotel has 43 double rooms and a presidential suite. The beautiful wellness & spa area of the resort is also housed in the hotel. The completely renovated Hotel Haliaetum ****, where the indoor pool with sea water can be used, is located in the immediate vicinity. The resort also offers three clay tennis courts, a mini golf course and several meeting and seminar rooms. As a cheaper alternative to Hotel Mirta **** or Haliaetum ****, accommodation can also be provided in one of the annexes ***.
Rooms
All rooms at the Hotel Mirta **** and Haliaetum **** are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and safe. They also have a balcony (some with sea view). Free WLAN internet access is available in all rooms.
Fitness
The Hotel Haliaetum **** has a small fitness room with basic equipment, which can be used free of charge. At the stadium in Koper there is the large fitness center of the Slovenian first league team FC Koper, which can be used for an additional charge.
Wellness
the hotel has a very nice wellness area with herbal sauna, Finnish sauna, infrared cabin, Roman steam bath, tepidarium, a grotto and a whirlpool. In the neighboring Hotel Haliaetum **** there is a seawater pool measuring 17 x 7 meters.
Map
The beautiful coastal town of Izola is located eight kilometers southwest of Koper, on the Adriatic coast of Slovenia. The resort is located directly on the beach and has its own section of beach. The center of the old town is around a ten-minute walk away.
Arrival by car or coach is recommended. For air travel, the nearest airport in Trieste/Italy is around 70 kilometers or about 50 minutes from Izola. Other options include the airports of Ljubljana, Pula or Rijeka, which are all around an hour and a half's drive from the hotel.
Activities
Beach/swimming facilities
The resort has its own stretch of beach with a pebble beach and also offers an indoor seawater pool.
Nightlife
Izola is more of a small tourist town, which is relatively quiet in the winter months. Koper is just a few kilometers away, where there is also something going on in winter.
Supporting program
We recommend a trip to the center of the region, to Koper or to the centers of Piran or Portoroz. In addition, there is free admission to the casino in Portoroz for our groups.
Regeneration
In addition to using the wellness area, there is also the option of massages and other treatments.
Sports facilities
There are three clay tennis courts and a mini-golf course at the resort. You can go for a nice run along the coast. There is a sports hall about one kilometer from the hotel.

For stays from Sunday to Thursday (from 3 nights) we offer special rates.
A deposit of Euro 50,--/person must be paid at check-in, which will be refunded at check-out.
If several teams are present, the period between the morning and afternoon training sessions can be 2.5 hours.
