The PLAZA Hotel Gelsenkirchen is known for its high quality and excellent value for money. Despite its central location, the hotel stands on its own on the edge of the city park, offering beautiful views from the guest rooms. After or between training sessions, there are plenty of things to do.
Training
The sessions take place at the SV Gelsenkirchen-Hessler 06 training facility, which is three kilometers from the hotel. It takes about eight minutes to reach the facility by car, but there are also good public transportation connections that get you there in about 20 minutes. The facility features both an artificial turf field and a natural grass field, as well as a cinder track. Training takes place on the artificial turf field (100 x 65 meters). Changing rooms and showers are available on site, and training equipment can also be stored there by arrangement.

Hotel
The PLAZA Hotel Gelsenkirchen is located right next to the Stadtgarten and features 223 rooms spread across 15 floors. The breakfast restaurant, which offers a varied buffet, is also used by our staff for other meals. A hotel bar ensures you can wind down the day in style. Flexible meeting and event spaces for up to 650 people are available for events and meetings.

Gelsenkirchen offers a wide range of recreational activities for sports groups and teams. Highlights include the VELTINS-Arena, home of FC Schalke 04, and the ZOOM Erlebniswelt with its themed worlds of Alaska, Africa, and Asia. For active groups, Alma Park—with indoor activities like laser tag, go-karting, and escape rooms—and Firebowl Gelsenkirchen, where you can go bowling together, are also great options.
