During the SOCCATOURS Training Camp Giveaway 2025, which attracted several thousand participating teams, FC Gherdëina secured the prize of a complete training camp experience. In January 2026, the team was able to redeem this special prize and spent three intensive days under optimal conditions in Italy on Lake Garda.
Travelling with a group of 25 people, the South Tyrolean side used the training camp to prepare specifically for the upcoming second half of the season. Alongside the sporting objectives, the focus was also on spending time together away from the usual league routine.
In the following, FC Gherdëina shares its experiences and impressions from the training camp.
Perfect conditions for focused training
FC Gherdëina was accommodated at the Castelnuovo Parc Hotel Premium, which proved convincing with its optimal conditions for training camps as well as recovery. The training pitches were in excellent condition, while the quiet surroundings provided ideal circumstances for focused and structured work.
In particular, the short distances between the accommodation and the training facilities ensured smooth daily routines and allowed the team to concentrate fully on football.
Head coach Rene R. was correspondingly satisfied:
“The conditions on site were excellent. We were able to lay the foundations for a successful second half of the season.”
Focus on tactics
Intensive training sessions took place on well-maintained pitches throughout the camp. From a sporting perspective, the focus was on further developing the team’s tactical approach and improving collective processes on the pitch.
The professional organisation and smoothly coordinated procedures from the very beginning played a key role in ensuring that the team felt well looked after at all times and could fully commit to the training programme.
“The entire organisation by SOCCATOURS was highly professional from start to finish,” the club stated. “The training pitches were in top condition, and the accommodation offered us ideal conditions for recovery,” was the conclusion from the coaching staff.
Shared experiences that remain memorable
Alongside the training sessions, team cohesion was not neglected. One moment that will remain particularly memorable for the entire squad was the joint team evening in Verona. The impressive setting of the city, combined with a lively atmosphere, created a special evening away from the training routine.
These shared experiences further strengthened the team spirit and helped the players recharge their energy for the upcoming challenges.
Player Marco M. commented on the experience:
“The training camp was demanding, but the fun and team spirit never fell by the wayside – especially the evening in Verona was legendary. We are ready for the challenges ahead.”
Ready for the second half of the season
After three nights and several intensive days of training, FC Gherdëina returned from the training camp not only strengthened from a sporting perspective, but also as an even more cohesive unit. The team feels well prepared both physically and mentally to start the second half of the season with renewed energy and confidence.
We are very pleased that the training camp was so well received. We wish the team every success for the upcoming second half of the season in the Oberliga (fifth tier of Italian football) and look forward to welcoming FC Gherdëina back for another training camp next year.
