The Istrian peninsula in Croatia has been one of the most popular football training camp destinations for years and is not only popular because of its mild climate. First and foremost, the Balkan state scores with its ultra-modern hotel industry and excellent sports centers. These convince around 500 teams to pitch their tents in the country of the 2018 World Cup runner-up every year.
The demand for Istria and Croatia in general is enormous. In addition to booking early, we recommend checking the match schedule, as capacities quickly become scarce, especially during the busy vacation periods for Germans and Austrians.
The winter months are the most suitable, as temperatures rarely fall below 10 degrees Celsius. In the summer months, the vacation destination is usually reserved for package tours and individual travelers. It can also be very hot for a training camp in summer, which is also reflected in the quality of the natural grass pitches at this time of year.
If there are any spontaneous questions or uncertainties on site, you can reach us as usual in the office during the week. In Croatia, we also have a member of staff on site all year round who can be contacted at any time during your stay. We will also provide you with the contact details of our hotel contacts.
Both our hotel partners and we know that it is always possible for a participant to cancel at short notice during a group trip. We therefore always try to find the most accommodating solution for the teams in cooperation with our long-standing hotel partners. Cancellation by one person two to three days before arrival is therefore usually not a problem. In order to be 100% on the safe side and avoid possible cancellation costs, we offer the teams appropriate travel cancellation insurance in cooperation with ALLIANZ.
That depends on the destination. In our best-selling destination in Novigrad, you will receive your training times one week before arrival. In Medulin, you have the option of securing the best training times with our exclusive premium package. In all other destinations, we usually receive the court times on the day of arrival.
Of course we can organize team-building activities for you in advance. Many teams have already rented bicycles for tours, fought duels on paintball fields or taken a trip to one of the beautiful Istrian old towns.
