Andalusia football training camp FAQs

  • When is the perfect time to travel to Andalusia for a training camp?

Due to its very southern location, Andalusia usually has a very mild climate in winter. The average number of rainy days per month is also well below ten, even in winter. Andalusia is therefore particularly suitable for winter training camps, both for professional teams in January and for amateur and youth teams in February, March and April. We generally advise against summer training camps in Andalusia, as the temperatures there are too hot during the day. For example, the average daily temperature in Seville from July to October is above 30 degrees with peaks towards 40 degrees, so this climate is usually too hot for training in summer.

  • What should you bear in mind when planning?

Andalusia is particularly suitable for a longer stay of five or more days. The flight time from Germany, Austria and Switzerland is 2.5 - 3.5 hours, depending on the departure and landing airport. Depending on the destination booked, there is also a transfer from the airport to the hotel, which takes 1-2 hours. The net travel time is therefore already around 5 hours, plus travel times to the departure airport and waiting times must be taken into account, so a training camp in Andalusia should not be less than 5 days. For a shorter stay, the ratio between travel time and effective usable time on site is not ideal - destinations with shorter travel times are more suitable here.

We recommend taking a look at the culture and cuisine of the Andalusians away from the hotel complex and the training pitch. You should experience the positive Andalusian attitude to life and the wonderful, diverse tapas variations in an Andalusian tapas bar.

  • Are the grass pitches playable in winter?

In our Andalusian destinations, training usually takes place exclusively on well-maintained natural grass pitches. In some destinations, training on artificial turf is possible; this is described in the respective hotel presentation.

  • What is the climate like in Andalusia in winter?

The Andalusian climate is characterized by mild temperatures and little precipitation, even in winter.
